Here's 1 of 2 '40 convertables I recieved in a box of salvage from Jody. One was totally FUBR and beyond all salvation. This one wasn't TOO bad, but still a mess. I cut the body in two myself, expecting to use the rear end on a different project, but decided to try for a complete really beat up model of a 40 convert.

That's going to be an interesting build, Clay. Can't wait to see the progress on this one. Alex

I do know how to spell convertible, should have proof read my post. This'll be somewhat of a curbside. It'll have a chassis that I cannibalized from a previous build, but it won't be very detailed. I have reattached the rear of the body: And have rear fenders on now. Cutting out the boogered Deluxe side louvres from the grill area. Going grill less

That's coming along very nicely, Clay. I know that it will come out looking great, but really enjoy watching your work progress. Alex

Yesterday I worked a bit on zeroing in more on the body/frame matchup and salvaging the firewall out of the FUBAR 40. It had been narrowed 1/2 inch.

Seein's as how I have to rebuild the top of the windshield, I might as well chop it a bit. Also, prevoius owner decided to eliminate the wipers, as I will do, except it required some serious fixin.

Here's the rebuilt and chopped windshield. Firewall is mocked in...but hitting the frame and holding the front end up some. merely superficial.

Thanks, Guys. When I started this, I replaced the 50 truck axle with a 40 Ford one in true gluebomb fashion....just glued to the frame w/ no suspension, rods, linkage, etc. With that said, I can't explain this, except that they may be visible thru the open top, but here I am putting in some imagineered interior bracing: And some springs behind the seat !
