Yeh Clay. Got the idea from a 1:1 shot of a street legal Modified picture. Why not a rat? Love those old Mods. Tube chassis legal for Rats? Might not be as interesting as some of the ones you guys come up with. If not, even have a few older frames.

I checked the body on the Tobias frame and it's not going to work too good, so the earlier frame looks like it might.

Looks like the first frame may be the best. Got my drilling tool out and carved out some rust holes. Put a little super glue, then baking soda on. Then put some rust on. Ehhhhhh... Got to be a better technique.

Basicaly the way I go about it, except for super glue. That hardens the stuff to unworkable. My method, after getting the holes thru from the backside, is to daub around them with a dark brown or umber acrylic paint - fairly thick. Then I sprinkle table salt on the acrylic paint and let it dry. When it's dry, scrape, rub or sand off the salt crystals. now you have a nice crusty dark brown area around the hole and you can brush on thinned rust color as you see fit. Baking soda is good for getting a finely pitted rusty area, like a roof or hood. A combination of both works well in other places. If you feel you need to seal your rust with superglue, fine, but I never do that. Cheers, Clay

Great tip Clay! I will give her a try. I already put super glue on from behind the holes though. Guess I should leave those alone now?
