Goin for a shiney old sled. Chopping the top about 1/8". Had to lenghten it about 3/16". Width wasn't too bad. Trying to get it a little lower without doing anything drastic or that defies the laws of physics

Using a Model Car List resin/photoetch grill set. Not matching up real well. But carrying on. A little cosmetic work and this may be all right. Looks like there'll no problems with the radiator. This foto shows the difference between the kit's hood and the resin grill piece. Not planning on using the hood sides, so I have some leeway to overcome this. Shaving the upper resin sides will leave it razor thin. What I might do, is split the hood and widen it at the front, and not take so much material off of the resin. BTW.... there are two sets of hood sides in this kit. One of them has louvres that are cast so that they are open clear thru. Neat But I'm still not going to use them. This kit also has, besides the steelies, a set of large bling 'ethnic' wheels and tires.

That is a problem. I know you will engineer something that will work.

Been workin some things out. Went with building up the cowl edge of the hood, moving it forward (about 3/32"). It fits the resin nose piece better. I had to add a brace because I lost the curve of the thing to match the cowl. I had a hard time fitting the hood because the dam* body wouldn't fit together the same each time, So I glued it all together !!!! So, now everything will have to built with the body and fenders as 1 piece. 1st, I needed to address the rumble seat/trunk lid. I have to install it from underneath. Solved that problem by cutting a slot in one of the pivot posts. I'll fill it back later. Because I have the fender/body slightly modified in relation to the frame, I may not not be using the rumble seat side pieces. It works...(for now) Mocked in the Garage

OK ! I am back after a 4 day bout with my internet provider and finally off of Dial up!! (like anyone else really cares) But I do have a little progress. I have made some bubble skirts from my favorite source, an empty Windex bottle. Only I have added a flange to this set.

Nothin new to report on the 36. Just felt that as a moderator, I should show up once in a while. I had to rework the top of the radiator. It wouldn't clear the resin nose piece. Butchery reduces it to 'imagineering' status

Workin on the windows, front and rear. I try to have everything done as much as I can before I paint. I managed to get the kit's rear window cut down. As I was fooling around trying out the fit as I went, I realized that there was no way I would be able to get it glued in without slathering glue somewhere where it shouldn't be - mainly on the glass area. The problem was the packgage shelf and the chop. I only had a half inch or so to get the thing way back to the window opening and gluing it in place, mainly working thru the windshield opening. I'd never make it !! My solution was to make a template and make a new package tray, and cut the old one out. Would have been a lot easier to have done it before gluing the top on. This is one reason I never paint a body first thing. I end up fooling with the build too much ;D New package tray will be added after I get the window 'glass' in place

Not big on showing pics of an ordinary paint job, But I figger I better show that this baby is still in progress. Got my new tip/needle for the Paasche so I managed to get black basecoat and the first clears on yesterday. Now I have to decide if I'll leave it alone. I hate wetsanding.
