Building a rat of sorts from junkyard parts. Looks like I'll be starting by getting a rear end together. Pair of old mags with tires, Salvaged the better part of an old rear end (9" Ford ?), cut down some old 5K brake drums and add a couple of spacers. I'll have to scratch some springs

Looks like the makings of two rats in that picture... I love watching these things unfold. Greg.

I have the rearend worked out 'cept for some shocks. I had to hurry and prime the kickup to hide Igor's crappy welding. Got motor mounts in for the Ardun Flathead. Changing the engine. That Ardun Flathead (Revell 50 PU) is a nice engine in spite of Revell's glaring boo boo on the exhaust ports. I think I'll save it for a nicer build someday. I had to alter the front end of another 'generic' flathead to fit the frame mounts I had made. I'll be modifying the pullys also to make everything sort of believable. ;D This will have two 97's instead of what you see. That's a VCG old school Hilborn Flathead injector. I'll save that for something else also.

Well, this flathead's gonna have to wait for another ressurrection. I ruined it somewhat trying to shave off the stock exhaust and modify the only three pipe set I had in the junkyard. SO, Plan C: A couple of engines from the salvage. The one on the right looks a little sterile and competionish, so I'll have a go at saving this one; Solder exhaust was a little tough - tore out the whole side of the head. I'll see if I can save it though. Stay tuned for plan D. Could get interesting. Plan D could possibly include the use of the far wall in the shop.

Heads have been repaired. Mounts for this engine installed, and a suicide front end started.

Dechromed a set of old radius rods and made mounts on the frame. Speed bump alert.

That suicide front end is quite a drop. It sits pretty low in the front. Gonna be sweet.

Buck, I didn't have a dropped axle that would lend itself to the wheels I have prepared, So I had to make a big drop bracket to get the front end down. Been fitting the body to the frame, redo engine mounts, and made exhaust plates for the head. Got it into my head to try to salvage the ugly 32 grill that came with the Lindberg 34 PU. Hogged out the back of the grill, and opened the grill shell. Looks like it might be OK

I wouldn't guarentee that, Buck. Seems like I always am having to change something !! Needed wheel clearance, so decided to raise the rear wheel wells. Right after this point, I came pretty near to invoking plan D ! The frame was just too wide to clear the inside of the new wheel wells !!! but a little judicious shaving, I have a very tight fit ! Not too bad
