I think it looks good as it is too. But it will look a little better with a little more rake. Just my opinion. I like rakes... Greg.

I might build a little rake into the channel, Bob. Back to a little detailing on the engine. I probably did something wrong, because the fan pulley didn't align with the others. I made a filler pulley

I sure would like to see how you do belts. That's one thing I've always had trouble with.

If I had seen this before I went out this afternoon, I could have taken pictures, Bob, while I was doing it. But actually, this was pretty simple. I used black thread this time. I sometimes used thin strips of black electricians tape. The sticky on them doesn't always co-operate, so I'll often clean off the sticky with automotive wax and grease remover and use a drop of superglue to fasten it. OK, I first draped the thread (centered) over the middle, fan belt pulley, and let it hang down over the sides of the alt and power steer pump pulleys with a couple of clamps as weights. A dab of super glue on the fan pully only. The super glue will travel along the thread a ways so if I tried to glue the side ones the glue would seep down and make the thread too stiff to round them to continue on to the bottom crank pully. When the top is secure, I'll turn the engine so the weights pull the thread around the alt pully and is resting touching the bottom of the crank pully. Touch of super glue to each, and when that's dried, I'll trim the excess thread off the bottom. Then, turn the engine the other way and repeat around the power steer pulley to the bottom of the crank pulley. Glue and trim.

Wow. Sounds so simple even without pics. This one came out great by the way. Great tutorial, I'll have to try it. Thanks again. Greg.

Great idea, thanks for the tip. The newer bunch of Ross Gibson engines have some black stuff to cut your belts from that is very real looking. I take a piece of typing paper and paint it flat black on both sides. Then cut it to the width I need. The grain of the paper does a good job of looking like a belt.

I had some of that belt material in the package, Buck. Maybe I'll try using it on something else. Today, I'm starting on another component....a bed. I'll be hacking up one from the salvage pile. Not only shorten it, but I will try to shallow it also.

Nope. Salvage yard something or other. It was glued at one time. Plastic under paint is red. Tailgate has louvres in the side panels. Ford in the center one. Also has Monogram on the underside of the bed,... and,... made in the USA !!!!

Got a few odds 'n ends done while finishing up the grandson's bike. Here's the bed, shortened, sectioned and in final prime.....maybe. Made a firewall (flat ). Then I made a false start to a rude awakening ! I glued steel piano wire to the insides of the door sills. OK, good enough. They were to strengthen the body while I boldly went to where I particularly didn't want to go, but, yes, I was going to open both doors Because I found a really good fold down bench seat in the salvage box that would be cool to see thru the open doors ! As I started to scribe around the top of the left door, I hit something by the A pillar !! I had forgotten that I had pinned the A pillars with piano wire. That cured me of wanting to open the doors !!!

Ha. That would cure me too. Moving right along on this one and still looking good. Now you'll need another project to start on to use that bench seat.

Piano wire is tough stuff. This build is looking sweet. The top chop is just right. Not to much, not to little.
