Here's one more story an it's all 100% true too. Years ago on U. S. 301 in Mechanisville Virginia , there was a small wrecking yard known to everyone as Lawhorns Auto parts. His draw was an old Crosley wagon on a pole. Lawhorn specialized in foreign parts and some small American cars . The yard sold and became Atlee Auto parts . A very reputable repair shop followed. The Hanover county supervisors decided that the Crosley HAD to go as Mechanicsville Virginia had become an out growth of YUPPIES ! A petition referendum followed . Lea Dunham of Still Runnin Magazine , Still Runnin Magazine forum assorted H A M B members then decided to have the Crosley restored and moved to it's present location . Marty Martino , builder of the Pontiac Club de Mer clone , restorer of the L' sabre II for Joe Bortz and long time friend of mine did the actual work . The Crosley is now in a "Protected " historical spot on Hwy 301 in front of the current Atlee Auto service building .

Cool ! Too many of recent generations don't care for nostalgia. I guess it disrupts their sense of pants dragging 'coolness'.

this reminds me -- Man! I gotta finish this darn thing, It all got side tracked when I ran out of my rust color polly scale paint, that brand is more orangey than the others and it complements the red oxide colored paints and the aims products very nicely. The hobby shops in my area, which are disappearing one by one, that used to have it don't have it no more, after spending a few weeks making the rounds for nothing. I ordered some online. It came like 2 weeks ago but then I was concentrating on another model. Also my day job keeps getting in the way. I promise an update soon, tom

been away for a while, my day job is once again getting in the way of my modeling. anyway here's an update on my dio. I re-did the lights as it was getting to crowded around the car, I added some more junk and got rid of the bigger trees at the base. I also started on a frame around the bottom,I also tried my hand at placing some graffiti on one side of the car. I did that for free on a web site called "graffiti creator". where you write something in a box and then you can mess around with it in a variety of ways, I then saved it and then printed it on the clear decal paper etc. Its pretty cool, tom

I did finish this build and brought it to a competition, where it won 3 plaques, class winner, dare to be different and a judges choice award, then someone asked if it was for sale . I replied my coat and hat are for sale! so before I could get a final pic it was gone, the buyer said he would take a few pics and e mail them to me but that did not happen, so goes the world. tom

thanks 1964, Most of what I have built you will find here at the rust bucket brigade, in both show and go and busted knuckles,in diorama/bone yard, and jalopy racers/neglected racers there are also a couple of rat rods, just look for treads started by tomcd62, thanks
