Oz's Old Barn

Clay inspired me to invest in a better Dio for my future workshop. Bought a set of plans off of Seb and Iggy for the Old Barn. Great set of plans with all the scales and lots of extra "How Tos". The bass wood strips are a package deal from Micro Mark. This is 1:25 scale.






After washing the barn structure with acrylic Paynes Grey water anf flow additive, cut the barn siding boards and washed them with first coat.


Was looking for an old red barn look, so tried a wash of Folk Art's Autom Leaves.




Next is the roofing.

I opted for the Galvenized corrugated look. Took several aluminum pie pans and cut the edges to flatten them out to make the sheets.
Take a straight edge and a metal scribe to make all the corrigation ridges.




Next will be to paint and age them with flat primers and rust dust.

Hope so. Spent some time putting barn boards on. Also notched the rafter beams, so the roof will sit where it's supposed to.






Next is to weather the galvanized roofing with flat primers and rust. Shot them today with flat black, red primer and green primer, then swabbed some rust on. They didn't turn out half bad.

Bruce this barn is really looking good. I think it rocks without the walls.

During the Holidays, had some time to work on the Old Barn. Cut flooring for side room and loft.


Washed and wood burned the floor boards. Washed and cut siding boards to finish the bar sides and doors, as well as siding for the work shop.









Next will be to make all the hinges for the doors and install the corrigated roofing.
