Have been lookin at this ever since I spied it in my care package. Now is a good time to give it a better look. A little out of my ball park, being cast metal. Looks like there is some stuff missing. Not promising to carry thru on this.
First hitch is trying to figure out this front end. Tie rod doesn't jive with the slot on the frame. No help from a quick Google search. Might have to GEEZERMAN it ( cobble). See no method to attach the axle assy. to the frame other than super glue it ??
This may not end up being very cool !!

Have the wheels repainted and scratched a distributor/rotor.

Workin on the body seams. The block had a big opening in front. I closed it up and put a crossover tube in front of it. Also a big hole in the side of the block below the carburetor. Don't know what Hubley had in mind for there. I just stuck something over it ( oil filter ? )

Chassis up on wheels. Found the overlooked Hubly taillights, but seen's as how I had already made one, I'll be going with that. Needed something for the Hubley headlights, so, I worked down a couple of 40 Ford hubcaps for some chrome buckets and using a standard paper hole punch on some acetate. Just right size for a pair of lens'

I like how you rusted your hole punch...

I have approached the point where I'm comfortable to set the engine permanently in the frame.

Final stages of putting this together. Doing some detailing on the top (braces). In place of nothing suitable, I've made a Tiki shifter

This will be the last update. I have it finished now and will be fotographing it soon. I don't know why I would have been so naive as to think the hood was going to fit upon final assembly. A little grinding and adjusting the radiator and hose, I did manage to get it on, albeit a tad askew.

Here she is for better or worse. Now it's time to hunker down for a bit 'til this hurricane does whatever it's gonna do.

Nice job. Oh yeah, the hurricane. Come on up to Myrtle Beach till it passes. I'll slide you some more care baskets...
