From the start, I had planned on melding the cab and front fenders into one unit. I still plan to. but, seeing as I am going to the trouble of including an engine, I had to figure out some way of just letting it be known that there is, indeed, one in there. So, glutton for punishment that I am , I've decided to have one of the doors opened to show the interior.
Finding I will have to do some more to keep the dualies inside of the edge of the rear fenders. So, I kinda tubbed them by adding to the inside !

Wrestling with a couple of obstinate points. For one, my holdout to use at least the differential from the original truck parts is being discontinued ! That large pumpkin just don't want to fit in in any manner. At least I have a floor pattern mocked in cardboard, that I can insert from the bottom.
'Bout ready to fit the cab and front fender assembly together.

A small victory this morning. A rear end, and up on wheels.

Building the front fender to the grill shell. I'm trying to get this matched up good enough to not mold together into one unit like I had originally planned.

Getting here.Made an engine shroud from a junker Ala Carte hood. Not a whole lot of leg room in there, but that's not MY problem.
Also have the door hinged. Final sanding check and I will be ready for paint.

Taking a small step backward. The cab has seemed to tilt towards the rear a bit, so, I'm trying to get it to sit more upright.

This puppy is in the final primer coat. I will start the painting soon. While it is gassing the paint, I'll be starting on phase 2.

The truck is painted and gassing out in the booth. So, I'm getting into phase II. Making a kind of flatbed 5th wheel trailer. I have an idea to use the rear portion of a junker roof to make a shroud, of sorts, for the hitch arm.
Using the unused portion of bed material from the old L 700 kit. Mocked up in this photo.
