got this Allison aircraft engine in the AMT parts pack.I did not like the profile of the engine with the supercharger and everyone seems to build it that way. So I did some research and discovered and that there was early non- supercharged military version of the v-12 that was used in boats. I found a few, very few, pictures of early hydroplanes that showed the carbs on top like a regular "V" engine, and some cool turbo charged tractor pull versions. So I went about imaginering a Hilborn version for a new rat rod. pretty kooky huh.

OH!!!! Super idea and the start of what could be a trend! I think the engine did go into many small ships/boats, and well as all early hydroplane racers. Thanx for a grand idea!

Man! I just can't find a good picture of the non supercharged version,or the "V-1710-C" which I have found out ,now, that it was mostly used in U.S. Navy airships or dirigibles. this engine was rated at 1000 horse power. thanks for looking.

Google images "old hydroplane boat engines" worked for me. Just a couple ones that were injected and they also had dual turbochargers. They turbos could be omitted and it would look like yours. I imagine injection lines would look like as on a V-8, but where the fuel pump would be I'm not sure.
