There HAVE to be a few rules in anything you do. This forum is no exception. These rules are simple and straight forward.
1. There will be NO flaming or critical comments about any member of this or any other forum. This also applies to other forums as well. We all provide outlets of different sorts and have diverse tastes and members.
2. No off-color comments, sexual innuendos, or obscene photos/avatars. No foul language, plain and simple. No political agendas/observations/remarks, either. Please remember that we are trying to provide a family-friendly safe haven for ALL modelers and 1:1 fans alike. So...if you wouldn't want your children to see it or read it.....DON'T POST IT.
3. Constructive criticism/comments are always welcome, but keep it constructive. Critical nit-picky junk is just that....junk. This is just a hobby. It's supposed to be fun and relaxing. Any post that DOES go overboard WILL BE REMOVED and a warning issued.
4. Even though this forum is set up mainly for those rusty, dusty, crusty, battered/bruised/neglected beasts, we do not wish to discourage ANYone from sharing what they are building or have built. This is, afterall, a HOBBY in which we all share a common bond. Therefore, just post what you are doing, PERIOD. We do not wish to come across as anal and prevent you from posting because it doesn't fall within our "guidelines".
5. The MAIN RULE is to use common sense, and have fun with the hobby.
6. All new members MUST activate their accounts within 14 days of joining the forum. This is so we can notify you via e-mail of any important issues pertaining to the forum, any special activities within the forum, or any changes to the forum. New members must also post an intro within 30 days of joining. Failure to do so may result in suspension or removal from the forum.
7. Any member not posting at LEAST once a month will be concidered inactive and be notified. Failure to respond will be deemed as self-exclusion, and the member will be removed. Now, we know that life can interfere with our hobbies, illness can drain us, and other problems can arise. All we ask is to let us know, if not as a post, then at least as a p/m to me or geezerman. We are not cold-hearted. Just let us know.
8. When posting photos to the forum, please make sure to re-size them to a maximum of 650X650. MOST, if not all, photo-sharing sites have the ability to resize your photos for you when uploading to the site. This is out of courtesy to the members who want to view the photos and to those of our members the use a dial-up modem. Grossly over-sized photos may be deleted as they have a tendency to clog the arteries of the system.
From time to time these rules will be reviewed and re-evaluated. Sometimes a rule may be modified or added to. But we prefer to use the K.I.S.S. approach and be self-policing.
