Here goes Rustbuckets first community build Guys, get yer current projects buttoned up or set aside, and get in on this Rustbucket contest! Here’s what’s going down: build a BEATER hot rod by midnight December 31, 2010. The prize will be an original piece of artwork ( the only one in the entire world!) by yours truly!!! Wow! toilet paper just don’t come nicer than this! Matted and ready for a 6 X 8 inch frame: Now here’s the bad part: I will be the sole judge, and my tastes will be a large factor in the judging. I want a hot rod! Rustbucket parameters must be followed, but, again, I want a hot rod. In the classic sense! If you want to throw in a 58 Impala in primer and red rims, it better be dam good! For a glimpse of my tastes in hot rods, here’s a look at the stuff in my Fotki hot rod albums: public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/1/clay_gratz/1/ I also will be looking at originality, realistic looking model, workmanship, and detail. I promise to be as fair as I can. I don’t like bling! No show cars or trailer queens! Keep it a Beater, rust bucket, rat rod, or good ‘ol hot rod. Entrants must declare intent to participate and show a reasonable amount of WIPs in this thread . Contest will start now and will end midnite December 31, 2010. One more note, there will be NO time extensions, no excuses, no whining. Please. Well, there might be excuses or whining, but they will be TOTALLY ignored Clay (Geezerman)

Ok, guys. I see there is some interest in this project ! WAY Cool. However, If all builds are going to be in this one thread, I'm going to ask a favor. Alex has not mentioned this in the rules, but there are other forums that make you keep the file size of your photos at a decent size. Common courtesy should make that happen with out rules. I happen to still be on dialup, hi speed is out of my income level! I alway reduce fotos to 600 Pixles on the large end before even sending them to Fotki or Photobucket. If you want to stay on my good side, don't post 20 different oversize views of how you rattlecanned primer on your body. In other words I will appreciate you not posting a lot of redundant material. I do want to see your mods and areas of interest. You may not have realized that you are dealing with a cranky old curmudgeon here, but I have seen threads that were clogged up with up to a dozen of so views of a sprayed out of the box body.

Photo Bucket posts at 640X480 and also has thumb nails. Would that work? Also, it would be good if you entered Clay, but you're not alowed to win:)

That's certainly a decent size. Folks, I'm not tryin to get pissy here. I'm asking for courtesy and common sense. Im referring to fotos that run into the thousands of pixles that you have to scroll sideways to see and material that has no definite meaning or relationship to the final outcome. Like multiple fotos of primered, unmodified parts. We're gathering some interest here and I'm thinking there will be a lot of fotos coming in. Thanks. Clay
