Sunday May 1 St was the Model Car Sunday show at the Puyallup Elks Club. I entered 6 builds and brought home 2 plaques and a ribbon. I am not taking credit for all the builds just entered them. So before we go any further let me tell you about the race results. The 68 Camaro was first in class and the 49 Merc was second. So plaque for the Camaro, ribbon for the Merc. So with the season half over the Camaro is ahead with 2 firsts and a third to the Merc's one second place. So once again Congratulation to all those involved with the team build.
The show was hosted by the Puget Sound Auto Modelers Association (PSAMA), they did a fine job. There were quite a few vendors with some good prices on kits and supplies and quite a few that few way out of line. The judging at this contest is done by the public. Everyone that comes through the door votes on their favorite in 25 classes plus two theme tables. So the out come is not in the hands of judges but the public and fellow builders that have entered. There are some awards that PSAMA judges like Best in show, best paint, best interior, and the Michael E. Hester Memorial award. The whole thing went so smooth that you didn't even know you were being judged. great job guys. I will be back next year for sure.
The Camaro (Blue Gill) won best in class "Straight line and Competition", the 1949 Merc won second in the same class and the 1937 Fiat Topolino won the Hester Memorial Award (quite a thrill for me). I saw fellow member "brizio" there he was like a fixture of stage at awards time. Excellent outing Congrats to him on his many wins. (I would list them but didn't take notes and there were to many for an old man to remember.)
So the battle between the Camaro and the Merc is getting down to it. 3 shows left for me this year if the Merc doesn't pick up a first in the next show there is no way I can compete with the Camaro. I may have to build another ProMod car to compete with it.
Here are the pictures enjoy.
