Cut out that curbside engine bay shelf this afternoon This is starting to look a tad bit complicated. It appears that I may have to construct a reverse cowl hood scoop. Carbs will be right at the rear of the hood.

That engine looks good sitting in there. What ever you come up with for the scoop I know will be awesome.

Monster engines these days just seem so out of scale I can't get used to 'em. Luv the pie sectioning (I never tried it). Good luck, nice to see a pro facing and overcoming challenges. Lessons for us all, thanx!

Things are gettin' tigfhter n' tighter as I add stuff !! I swapped out the Gibson valve covers for a pair of resin ones that I had been hoarding for several years. The Gibsons are double plugged, and besides they are crappy with pinholes! Not want to deal with either. Test fit body over engine. I had to adjust the engine once already after I had superglued it in Seems that things fit fine until final assembly, then suddenly they don't any more! Better I stick to my simple hot rods !!! More room to do outside of the box stuff !

Well, back to the body ! I usually paint the body last, because I handle it 80 million times. Now, if it'll just go over all this mess AFTER I paint it !!

Liking the purple. Have you decided about the scoop yet?

Yeah, the dam* scoop Don't care a lot about those big gawky hood scoops, but it's kind of a necessity on this baby. So, I'm looking in the salvage yard for something to base it on. Decided that the Jeep one might compliment the design in the challenger hood So here goes nothing. Had Igor hack a hole in the hood to see how much clearance I would need. Blankity Blank distributor made the hole bigger than I would have liked. Then started to work on the Jeep addition. Had to bend it some. Hope this doesn't look too crappy !

I know itr will rock when you get it done. How's the flooding problem? Has it gone down any?

Past experience shows that it takes a few dry days for the water to recede noticably. There is only one 10" culvert pipe in the two mile long area that floods behind me, that lets the water drain toward the Gulf. May be getting more rain this week. So anyway, This scoop is not gonna fly. Don't like big scoops, especially UGLY ones. I may not be even able to use the Challenger hood and stick on some air cleaners, due to the hole I put in it, . I hope there is enough detail on the engine to let me get away with no hood at all. There are no other body details (inner wheel wells, etc). , and that will show !! We'll see!

Those Demon style carbs look good just by themselves.

Yeah. That chrome aircleaner is too big, even if I strip it and paint it. It'll be this, or nekkid carb tops

Now ya got it! That big 'un was TOO WIDE. She is cooking now, thanx for the lesson on body fit and painting it last! I could never wait and worked with each sub assembly as another part was drying. Back then we didn't have the standards or dared to try what's normal now!

Looks nice I think either way is a winner, but lean toward the nekkid look.

Hey do the kids still use the expression "Boss" ? as in "that's really Boss", which is the only way I can think of describing this build "Boss...... really Boss...... Man!
