That is stunning detailing, Tom. Even down to the track bed. Great job!!! If you don't take some hardware with this, there's something definitly wrong !!!

the model contest "Attack of the Plastic" in Delavan ,WI, went well for me as I won four plaques. The judges were not sure what to do, as far as class, so the plow truck ended up in the miscellaneous division, where it was a class winner . The plow truck also won the over all "Best Detail" award and the over all "Dare to be Different" award. The 4th award, a class winner in diorama, went to my crushed cars on a flat bed ,which I recently built a base for and added some different chain pullers. I will add a new pic to that thread soon, thanks for your interest, Tom Should I feel insulted winning "Dare to be Different"?

It's nice to win anything, but having a good time, inspiring others and keeping your skills up and the hobby healthy are the REAL prizes. You are a winner there and here, thanx!

Congrats on the wins. I think you should "Dare to be Different" I know that I enjoyed both of those builds. The "crushed cars" was one of my all time favorites. And the snow plow is the only one I have ever seen. Now that's different.

ConGratz on the wins, Tom. Those judges had no choice !!!! ;D That's an awesome piece !!!!!!
As for "Dare to be different"............more modelers should go this route , IMHO. Way too many are content to merely assemble a kit. to whatever degree of neatness they manage, and then proudly show it off as 'their build'.

cool thanks guys. Some times In the shows I have participated in the "Dare to be Different" award goes to a weirder model that may be a strange combination of different pieces, parts or genres. This model is usually a highly imaginative model not based on reality, Very often the model is not executed the best and it seems to me, the award is given for the weirdness more than anything else. with that said I am happy to win anything. And wow!, "dare to be different" and "best detail" going to the same model thats real cool
