Finally got my first rat rod build under way. I can see myself building a few of these as there is just so many choices when considering which direction to go. My head was swimming just looking through my parts collection. I am going to try keeping this one traditional with a flat-head engine. But it's hard resist placing a big old hemi in there. May be next time. Attachments:

Another model e-club site had an engine web site with a lot of interesting work. When you think of it, the old Chrysler wedge engine was a great alternate and in the '60s had wild headers. The Buick nailhead was beautiful to look at, and now with the '50 Olds kit, early Olds have possibilities. Ardun flattie conversions are big these days as well as the old type blowers. The late model Mustangs sometimes have the big McCullough belt driven chargers that look interesting in hoodless rods. Straight 6s and 8s. To me, I understand better as I age that big isn't everything, even with the old saw "there's no substitute for cubic inches."

Quite true, Harron. But big blocked, blown, multi carbed engines can scream....ATTITUDE !
