TORCHED ! I'll be starting over with some new (and different !) home made headers. Wired the engine, fit the pullys, made a Bracket for the idler and thought to fit the engine in the frame. Blankity blank headers wouldn't clear the upper A arms ! Whittling and shaving until, even I, was ashamed at the butchery I was inflicting on the A arms, So, hopefully, a new set will clear and hide the damage. Also found out the engine will have to go further forward. Good thing I like modeling this way !

I have went from imagineering to FUBAR !! This engine definitely wasn't meant for this car ! I haven't had this much trouble before. But I seldom have to screw around with this type of front suspension other than raising the spindles. It was looking like it was going to be way out of camber even before I messed it up On an odd note, this kit (sealed) had an additional lower front suspension piece, unattached, laying in the bottom of the box!! My intention to have this as a semi curbside is causing me to plow ahead. If I can get some decent photos when it's finished, I'll be happy !

Nothing new to show today. I am working on the distasteful part.....interior. One of the things I got accomplished was to cut out the speaker grills in the kickpanels. Dork home builder blew them out a couple of years back anyway. He blew a couple of grand on a speaker system instead of on the niceties. Just to impress a couple of his hip hop friends and piss off everyone else that was within a quarter of a mile. Now he wears an Ipod to keep his brains scrambled. On the other hand, Dr. John, Vladimer Horowitz, and Rossini are pretty awesome on that many watts!!

This is unusual for me for I seldom post interior fotos. A. I seldom take pains on an interior. B. I rarely use interior tubs supplied by a kit.

Got down to Ace Hardware in Homossassa today, and picked up some 1/32" brass rod. So I was able to get the trunk lid hinged

very Cool. Hey Geez where did you get or how did ya model those welds? I found some resin welds that work like decals by company called "Arrow", but they are not that thick. any how the welds are a fantastic detail, tom

Tom, I use Elmers wood glue daubed along a line, or edge, with a sharpened toothpick. A little tedious, but worth it. A little blackwash kicks it out. I toned down the heat distortion color showing in one of the photos. I did almost the same thing on a larger scale on my helmet. Only I used Bondo in a hypodermic needle. I unscrewed the needle and , with the plunger, forced the Bondo out of the small opening of the tube itself. Had to work fast, The bondo kicked about halfway thru the welds, but I was able to push the hardened Bondo out of the plunger end. It came out clean and I was able to continue with the same needle ;D

Thanks Geez, It sounds so easy but I know better. The "Arrow' product, besides being expensive, is made for the armor boys. Its 1/35th scale and can only be applied straight. no curves or corners. I am going to try making my own welds for sure in my next model. tom

Just doing small stuff now, and getting into final assembling. Nothing new or interesting.

Incidentally, I was mistaken the resin welds are made by a company called "Archer" or "Archer Fine Transfers" not "Arrow", tom
