Waiting on paint, I got into the A sedan I recently got. Got it marked for the saw. Replacing the hinge pins with piano wire. Have to figure out a scratched frame. I wanted to get it a little more together, and figured I'd chop the doors. Looking in the box, I could find no doors !. Checking all the spru trees, I discovered that both doors had been clipped off !!!#$@# . This was a sealed kit that I picked up at a hobby shop in Bradenton 90 miles away, in early January !!! Was a bit miffed, but seein as how I was going to just cut them up, I'd scratch a pair already chopped! That's where it is now.

Monday - Still working on a frame, I almost have it, but I had to get the front end together for the fit. Instead of splitting the wishbone, I'm going to use some rods from the salvage. So I had to make mounts on the axle for them. Using some salvage door hinges ;D Note, I'm not using the dropped axle, so there will be a significant spring perch on the front of the frame. To continue, I sure lost a lot of battles with inanimate objects, but in the end, I won the war and have a frame !!!!! I had to replace the center of the steering bar between the wheels (I can’t pull up the name for it right now) with brass rod, because the straight plastic part wouldn’t clear the fancy pantsy spring perch ! Frame mock: Mock with body:

Wheels don't clear the body this low. I didn't want to widen them so, I started to make some inner wheel wells and soon realized that I didn't want to fool with it and they would be too sophisticated for this car anyway. I'm having Egor simply torch out the openings.

Yesterday, I started cutting out the upholstered part of the stock seats. I will use the backs for the pads on my homemade 'bomber' type seats. Today, I got them made (except for painting the frames). I covered the 'pad' with handkerchief linen.

Interior floor is done on the kit's floor pan. I had to modify the drive shaft tunnel to scootch the seats inward a bit. Not easy, the tunnel was made from a Beef O Brady large soda straw (read, flimsy). The shifter knob is a V8 emblem from a Model A headlight bar. Front end is set and we're up on wheels.

Not too sure if I can get this done before Proboards screws the site over. Two of the half dozen sites I frequent have quit and gone to other hosts because of it. As the ony acitve administrator on Rustbuckets, I plan to bail if the change is gonna give me difficulties. Not sure if Henry's Model A had a full metel roof covered with fabric, but MINE does. And it's starting to show it's age.

I am able to laugh at myself and don't mind if anyone else joins in. This foto shows that I am trimming away the mounting blocks that I put on the ends of the dash and was in the way of the doors closing. The doors still don't close well, and I am able to live with that (shallow). But, When I looked at this foto, made me realize that there are some things that even 'imagineering' will not overcome! There is no way in heck that turning the steering wheel will cause the steer gear to activate the steer system !! Maybe I can pretend there are a series of worm gears in there Cleverness meets stupidity !I'm done with this mess, and will get better finish fotos when the sun shines next in Florida.
