Sometimes you have to do some other stuff in order to keep from messing with something you need to let dry or set up. Looking at the engine I'm not using for the Model A that I'm building, I'm starting to play with it. First, I'm adding a V-8 head. Using a Ford domed hubcap, I making an adapter for part of a Lenco tranny. Cobbling up a pulley to (imagineer) power to activate the lifters.

Some more this afternoon. Lower pulleys on, and a bracket for the alternator. Using a piece of a Frontenac intake manifold. I cannibalized a resin flathead Hilborn style injection unit. The eyelet stacks were in a care package that was sent to me a couple of years ago by the Buckster. These are perfect !!!

OK, now where to put spark plugs? I love *imagineering* !! Drill the block at the top of the pistons for the spark plug wires and stick the flamethrower in a convenient tube where there is a *gear* down there to run it off the crank !!

Crappy weather still keeping me from the coupe's paint job, I turned back to this engine. Here's a front and rear view' Today I started the scrounge thru the stash, and I think I can come up with enough stuff to build a rod. Found a neat set of wheels and tires I had set back. Have engine mounts in that frame already........nap time!

Don't have any kind of performance rear end in the salvage, so this weenie job will have to do. Filled in the slot (it'll show). Lenco gonna show too. Ain't about to hide that baby under a tunnel !!! ;D Cobbled some rear shocks out of rod & tubing. I have been working on a nose piece, but will wait until I am sure it'll work out before I show it.

I had envisioned a track nose on this baby. None in the salvage pile. So, I figured I would carve a mold, not knowing if I wanted to make a papermache off of it or what. I discounted tooling back up for resin casts...($$), Thought maybe I could just carve it out of a piece of cypress. Looked pretty close to the model while still on the block and it fit a radiator I dug out. So I cut a relief on the back side. After finishing forming to a close rough, I removed it from the stock piece and gave it a fit. Holy crap, Way to big (tall). Started to hogging it out and kept having to go deeper and deeper. It was at this point I started having doubts. Finally figured I would have to reduce it some from the exterior also. I removed 1/16" from the bottom and about 3/16" off the top, and took the radiator relief off the back.. After getting the contour back somewhat, I'm close. Still may have to doctor it up a tad more. It's still too tall. Making another nose piece. Stacking some mat board pieces and will Bondo to final shape. Gonna build and give Don's amazing parts sucker machine (vacuum former. skidsplace.forumotion.co/t836-vacuum-former) a try. If I can get a couple of decent copies of this, I will rework it, and make a taller grill opening. This seems a bit too small, but still useable.

On the other forum I frequent the most, member Wisdonm built a vacuum forming devise and I gave it a go Worked out pretty good. Plastic from the side of a Windex bottle stretched out pretty thin. The nose piece is pretty flimsy but I'll use it. I may have to try some thicker material as I experiment further. With having some paint problems, I have resorted to spraying the body parts in primer. Ready to continue assembling.

Still rain in Florida and painting is 'iffy'. I'm not stripping and/or sanding this thing again ! It's in primer and getting final stuff attached. It'll be in the finished section in a couple of days !!
