Well, everyone's grateful for your compulsion! Your work is always interesting and creative. Maybe when whatever passes for Winter down there comes, you can stun all with a great diorama. Until then, good hunting!

I love when modeling becomes Art, sorry to be one of the people neglecting the sight, building a nice jalopy stocker but my camera's broke, and so am I, tom

Getting heavy into the body work today. First, the Chev's headlights sat too low in the eye sockets. Not too evident in this photo's angle. So yesterday, first idea was to cut the headlight pods off of this leftover truck fender assembly. Seemed kinda a waste of a good part, so I dug out a front clip of a 41 Ford. Some cutting and juggling and it looks pretty good. Most of today was fitting a pair of Chev Craftsman truck front fenders over the 55's. Had better wheel openings. Now it's Bondo and sanding time !!

Igor is knee deep in Bondo and Kombi Putty dust, as we expected. Igor is resigned to this job ever since I threatened to super glue a sanding block to his hand if he didn't stop whining about it ! (he still flips me the bird when he thinks I'm not looking) Meanwhile, at the bench, I have glued extensions on the upper cheek bones to get them over to the fenders.

I have been increasingly dissatisfied with the skull placement, and going out this morning for another sanding session, got to wondering before spending any more time on body work, if maybe I'd remove that whole front clip and see if I can get that skul back some to where the arch behind and above the rear teeth would form the front edge of the wheel opening. I believe the balance of the car (?) would be more pleasing. It appears as if I am about to embark on more butchery !!!

Good thing I love butchering, eh? Better ? Will have to work on the top of the skul some also to get it down a tad.

Excellent idea. It's starting to look much better now. It could even go back so the teeth are the wheel well with a flip front hood. I wonder if you can section a skull ?

Lopped off some of the top, Bob. I'm modifying the 55's air scoop. Hopefully it'll kinda fill the gap.

Today, the old dummy had to replace some material on the front of the fenders. Didn't like the gap behind the lower rear edge of the eye sockets !

That will help a little, then the lights can go through the eyes.

Have a fan and shroud squeezed in behind the skull. It'll be slightly visible and suggest the imaginary radiator further into the skull. And now, the body and skull are an integral unit. Awaiting refinement.

And to think some people are so lazy they just paint shark's teeth on their planes noses and so on like that... I think this one is coming along great.

Now with a coat of primer: And just in case anyone gets the idea that this is a wussy ride, I'm giving it a tad of backbone !!! As I went thru my stash of "bone pile", I'm showing y'all what marvelous restraint I used regarding backbone material ! ;D
