Almost didn't want to come in for supper yesterday, having too much fun !! Made injector stacks from aluminum tubing. Just right for these neat tops that I found in the salvage yard !
This morning I started on the bases and the igniters. Now I only have a vague notion of the mechanics of FI, but this will be my imagineering version. Fuel comes in below the igniters. These are made from .030 hex rod with one end shaved down to fit thru a seed bead. The other end is drilled for .015 fishing line. 4 more to go !

Wait a minute !!! Fuel being ignited in the manifold, above the blower ? I just now thought of that. Ho boy !! Too later now. Imagineering at it's worst !!

Boy, this brain fart has rendered my brain totally unsuitable for my daily nap !! How about if what I called those 'igniters', I'll call them electronic triggers that will inject the fuel coming in from the lines below them? Makes a little more sense....
I probably ought to read up some on fuel injection, eh? I mean the spark plugs ignite the fuel !! Duh !!

I think what you have is the basis of the gravitron. Chistopher Lloyd had touched on this in back to the future, but this is much cooler than a delorean. Either way, since they changed this to a blue background, the purple ink has to go....... You are so very close to defying gravity with this one, don't change now.

Thanks, Guys. The inevitable has happened, The engine had to be messed with to get it down in the bay when I test fitted it with the exhaust headers on. They're the ones that came with the Gen Lee kit. I had to pull the starter off and tuck it in closer to the block. The header pipe ends interfered with torsion like bars that go from the body pan to the spindle plates. I had to take them (the bars) off. I'll put them back after I get the engine mounted. Which means I have to get the front of the engine (pulleys etc.) done before the engine gets encased in that frame cage!! Meanwhile, the spindles are flopping around and falling apart! Argh !!! Plus, all of the handling is messing with the finish on the valve covers ! I'm a little disappointed in the way the paint isn't holding up. I used expensive hobby shop paint, Model Master, thru my airbrush, and, in the Florida humidity, it ain't holding up any better than cheap dollar store rattle can stuff! Even still, the engine has to be wormed into place. So who knows after I get the rest of it done. I may take the weekend off ! Sorry about the previous purple font. I won't do that again !

Well, ok. As long as you don't use the purple font anymore, you can take a couple of days off if you like.

I'm out of words to describe the skills and "Imagineering." For now "SPLENDID" will have to do, thanx!

Got in a little work among all of the influx of relatives. Plug wires and blower belt. Yes, if any sharp eyes have noticed, those are tacky J C Whitney type valve cover hold downs on the tops. The bottom ones had to be cut off to allow the engine to drop between the rails. The engine is about ready for permanent placement in the frame !

I guess Mincraft got the Gen Lee as low as it was supposed to go. My lowering mods were set too low. I had to shave the bottom of the bellhousing cover even after reverting to the original holes that the old dummy. fortunately, hadn't destroyed. (or else I had made the bellhousing too big)
Surfing on another site I came across another Gen Lee being built. The builder had noted that the front wheel opening was un prototypically radius ed. I may flatten the tops of mine also, even tho my reputation is not to be overly concerned with 'prototypical'

Injectors installed this morning. Think they're going to be OK

Mincraft's instructions had the battery mount in front of the RF wheel on a bar that hat no accommodations for it. The Gen Lee must have been rigged from the tooling from something else.....maybe they had a NASCAR version in earlier life. Anyway, I relocated it to behind the pass, seat. and I routed the positive cable real close to where the roll bar will be, just to make things exiting.

Reinforced the cowl with piano wire before trying to hog out the underside if the grill.
