Built a reverse induction Chevy powered 34 sedan a while back. We're having a similar build thread on Zbucksters. This time I'm going with a Nailhead engine. I thought reversing the heads would help me with the exhaust, Then I milled down the center of the block. The Black manifold shown would lend itself pretty good to build the exhausts on. Unfortunately, to do what i intended to do, I couldn't figure out how to incorporate the valve covers, even in my most wild, impractable, imagineering efforts . So after ruining the nailhead valve covers. I will be turning to plan "B"

Finally got back into the studio for a few minutes. Made my intake manifold/plenums using some salvage exhausts.

Looks like this might work, so I'm throwing it out for you guys! Salvaging a couple of ratty old 5K blower castings. I 'spect some braces will be a good idea. Think it's kinda wide? I'm planning on those Webers sticking out even further yet. I had no rear ends in my stash that looked sturdy enough for this except this one. I think it's from a NASCAR kit.

2 many blowers! I'd have tried a front mounted one with the pipes swooping around the sides and exhausts sweeping up and back. How you'll make this fit with a body, who knows?! A car or old truck with fenders would make the engine look less wide. Just my view, proportions help make a model look real.

Open engine bay hot rod, Harron. ;D Anything else would be a tad more of a challenge. The following is not aimed specifically at you, it is what I have copied and pasted in the other forums I frequent. Now entering an area of my greatest competence, .....making nitpickers squirm. These are the closest I have to the carburation I wanted, so I'll be imagineering them somewhat. I have joined each pair with a common butterfly shaft before I cut them from the runners. I plan to have the butterflys operate with radio controlled servos. Transmitter to be activated by the gas pedal. (not really ..... modelwise)

Hold up on that carb setup. Want to make it easieer linkage wise.

From the past builds I suggest you use ratstoleum paint, flat or semi-gross. Whatever you do, a nailhead will look great! Thanx!

I spent the afternoon changing the handlebars on my bike and slipping in to see Dodge win at 'Dega ;D However, I got a couple of hours in this morning hooking up the reciever and servo's. Just need an electrical wire between them. I have gas provisions prepared under the carbs.

Those carbs look awesomer Clay. I really like the RC control "Fly by wire" I am going to steal that idea. I can see it coming.

Took another crack at the exhaust again today. I had nothing in my salvage that would lend itself to this project. So, I blew 6 bucks at Home Depot for some solder. That didn't work out so well for me. At least I have some solder now if I need it Found a length of yellow solid core wire. I stripped off the clear plastic coating and it's working out pretty good. Got them attached to the 'manifold', and I'll be able to position the pipes when I get a chasssis and see how things line up.

Looks way better than mine. I am still working on the exhaust system.

It seems I had to get the plug wires on before mounting the blowers. Which meant I had to get the exhaust done to do that. So, without even a frame to guide by, I finished and installed the exhaust. Not seeing an easy way to put a heat shield in the rear of the block, I routed the plug wires across the top, then rearward to the plugs. Now I can install the blowers. Braced them underneath at the rear. Found a neat gear just right for the blower drive Those yellow pulleys were cut off of a belt assembly. A bit lopsided, hope I can disguise that !
