GAME ON !!!!

Not content to build another stock..no extra parts......what to do ?
Junker came to mind.



But checking with AK Collectables, I decided to raid yet another advance into my modeling budget. I know I whine about my Social Security limited budget, but y' only live once, and I ain't getting any younger !
Besides, I ought to spend it before osama gives it all away to his voters.
So today, the engine came to power my Big Rat !



I knew I wasn't going to use the Charger wheels, so I have been working on the Ford wires.
The front outer halves were pretty good looking, but I changed one of the spokes anyway with brass rod. There wasn't any shoulder to work with comfortably, so I'll be leaving the outer halves in plastic. The inner halves were not so good and they have plenty of shoulder to work with, so the spokes will all be replaced with brass rod




Waiting for the Gen Lee kit, I got a little start on z'ing the rear of the frame.



But now, I can get the engine built and figure out how to proceed !!

As usual, One mod depends on another.
Got the engine basically together so I can locate it in the frame. That meant I had to get the rear end together also for the same reason. That meant I had to get the pumpkin modified from the model A rear end. The Dodge wouldn't have worked very well. That means I'll have to get the wheels painted to check that. I hope I have the frame kick up figured out close to where it will work.
I spent all afternoon trying stuff that will give me a believable imagineered quick change.
I believe I have that roughed in finally.

Got the rear end gear box pretty much on the way. Hope this ain't too sophisticated for this rat. That Hemi, even relatively stock, will have some beans, so this rear end is fresh from the machine shop. New Geezer design and engineered. Computer operated to change gears on the fly as the power demands. There will be an USB cable to the computer some where in the body . ;D
Also decided to have both a dropped axle plus a suicide type front end. Dropping the axle enough alone, to get this down would call for an drastic, unrealistic look.

Is it a 1/16th scale engine in a 1/25th frame and body? that would be so cool, like one of those old t-shirt cartoon cars.

Well, the old fools insistence on using the model A's rear end seems to have finally come to fruition.
Upgrading to a hardier differential led to the discovery that the axle would be too short to get the desired effect. So a new longer axle rod (aluminum), some spare 1:24 wheels and spacers, let me build industrial size brake drums.


Totaled out, I can get the body down between the wheels like I wanted.

Scratched a drive shaft this morning. So the Hemi can be connected to the Geezer Gear box.

Got the spring perch on.



And a pair of header plates scratched up. The Dodge headers are too sophisticated for what I have in mind. They'll go back in the box.

I have the radius rod mountings front and rear done. added some welds to my frame mods. Have some hydraulic brake lines ready for the fronts.
We all knew going in that this big Hemi would need some extra room in this A body, so I have made some initial cutting into the firewall. The new insert will go dang near back to the dashboard piece. I am determined to keep that FUGLY stock (kit) intake manifold.
I need to go still lower, so I'll have to go further back into the upper part of the cowl piece.

When I get this all squared away and firmed up, then I can tackle the top chop.
