Nothing overly exciting to report. Putting the Gen Lee Hemi together some. I did go out for a bit this morning and cut/bent some aluminum tubing for the exhaust pipes. I got down an old ( probably over 30 years, from the old model RR days) container of Radio Shack PCB Etchant solution ( acid). It still had some kick to etch the tubing. Having dinner at daughters today, so may get back on it tomorrow.

Got some progress worth showing today. Rear wheels permanently on chassis. Top chopped and pinned and mocked with front wheels in place temporary. Had to relieve front of right cowl to clear rear exhaust pipe. Now we can get somewhere !

Looking really good. I like the color of the wires so far too, though I'll bet that isn't the final color.

Do you ever find you are always running out of certain parts ? Chassis, bodies, anything in particular ?

Bob. Most often I look thru the salvage pile to find something similar to what I need, and modify it. Either that, or scratch it. The doors on the A bone Have been hung with some slop. The fit is atrocious From bottom to top. Minicrafts instructions Are all but ignored. 'Cause bassackwards their going On this large rat rod Ford. That this is a junker Is my saving grace. I can go all out sloppy Without losing face. Happy New Year. All

I'm posting this, because y'all already know what a colossal screw up I can be. Now I know better than to use open flame, and I have had some luck with boiling water before. But in trying to get a little warp out of these doors, I got the right one a little too hot in boiling water and totally FUBAR'ed it. Here, I have started to cut it apart. Hopefully, I can get it rebuilt good enough to redeem myself. There is a reason I like to build junk !

I'm workin' on it. Have a new front half of the window area scratched, ready to go on. I'm backing this work up with the kit's interior door panel, (grey part). That will be on the right side only.

My first week of the new year's work. Trying to get the door back to almost like new. Semi - failure.... It's not almost like new! However, the top front corner juts out. That's like new ! 'swhy I FUBARed it in the first place !!! Meanwhile, under the dash, I have imagineered the Model A steer box into a worm gear shaft going out the side of the cowl.
